SuperDrives for older Powerbooks and iBooks
There's great news for older slot-loading PowerBook and iBook owners: FastMac has announced a replacement SuperDrive for these machines. FastMac claims the drives is fully compatible with iDVD, iTunes, and Disc Burner, as well as Roxio's Toast Titanium.
Here's the list of models in which their drives will work:
- All Titanium PowerBook G4
- All iBook G4
- PowerBook G3 Pismo
- All Slot-loading iMac G3
- PowerMac G4 Cube

The prices range from $229 to $299, depending on desired burning speed and your particular model of Macintosh. The best drive offers faster burning than Apple offers in its current laptops: 8x.
Right now, they have a special on a 2x SuperDrive for Titanium models at 667 MHz and above: $169!
