Holdit! Mutes or pauses your Mac when the phone rings
PocketMac has just released HoldIt! for Mac OS X. This amazing application will silence your Mac whenever the telephone rings by muting, pausing, or stopping the media application that's running.
Just plug a phone line into your Mac's RJ-11 jack (you know-- the modem you never use) and fire up HoldIt. You'll be able to set a variety of actions to be taken when an incoming call is detected:
- Display a warning dialog box
- Stop or pause iTunes
- Stop or pause the Mac DVD Player
- Stop or pause EyeTV
- Mute the sound on your Mac
- Run an applescript
- or all of the above
