iSpeak It 2.0 Turns Documents into Audio Books

ZappTek has just released version 2.0 of iSpeak It, their convenient text-to-audio file utility.

Take a document in just about any popular format (MS Word, RTF, PDF, text), load it into iSpeak It, and save it out as an AIFF file. You can then use iTunes to convert it to a number of other audio formats, including MP3.

More features:
  • If you download an RSS feed and convert it with iSpeak It, it will remember which entries it has already seen and only convert the new ones.
  • Split long documents into multiple tracks
  • Make AAC encoded documents bookmarkable so they remember where you left off, just like audiobooks.
  • Transfer AIFF files to iTunes automatically after conversion
  • ...lots more.
I keep thinking about how Cory Doctorow (the science fiction writer and copyfight advocate) makes his novels and short stories free for download on his website (craphound)... it would be great to have audio book versions!

iSpeak It 2.0 is only $14.95.
