Apple Announces PowerMac G5 Quad
Apple has released a new two-processor, dual-core PowerMac G5, with each running at 2.5GHz.The top end machine sports the following:
- Two dual-core 2.5GHz PowerPC G5 processors
- 1.25GHz frontside bus per processor
- 1MB L2 cache per core
- 512MB of 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-4200)
- 250GB Serial ATA hard drive
- 16x SuperDrive (double-layer)
- Three open PCI-Express expansion slots
- NVIDIA GeForce 6600 with 256MB GDDR SDRAM
The Quad sells for $3299, but you can get the base model with a single dual-code G5 for $1999.
